i love an indian curry...years ago when i lived in london i often visited a big bustling indian restaurant called khans in bayswater. we would order large indian beers, tear at the naan bread & mop up the spicy curries before stepping back out onto the chilly busy street to make our way to the nearest cosy pub...aarrhh those were the days.
i had a chat to a friend recently who is a keen indian food eater & indian food maker. so much so that he made his own lamb saag & garlic naan bread from scratch when i visited & it was excellent! he told me about maharani @ boondal, saying that their dishes are traditional & well made &...delicious. so a recent thursday night we visited & the food was great. the service was no frills which adds to the charm & it was really reasonable! take some beers or bottle of wine with you & watch the bollywood movie playing on the wall & enjoy eating the flavoursome curries...& be sure to take home any left-overs!

Oh I love Indian food! I could totally devour my body weight in papadums haha.
I definitely find that the more no frills a place is, the more authentic the food usually is.
Looks great. Since my local Paki/Indian restaurant closed up I'm struggling to find some REALLY good Indian in my area. The search continues
