amalfi italian pizzeria, 42 moonee st, coffs harbour

i love a local italian restaurant.  whenever i am holidaying in coffs harbour i always suggest we go to amalfi's......it is everything i love about a local italian restaurant!  cheap, cheesy, odd wine glasses, service is inconsistent, child friendly, tables on the street, good parking, byo, thongs fine to wear & simply tasty food.  i must stress that you get what you pay for - last time we went our table was taken by another family....half the table got their mains before their entrees & the wine opener didn't arrive for almost 20 minutes!  my sister now goes there with a wine opener & a cooler of her own......this all adds to the charm of the place + the pizza maker gives the children a piece of dough to play with (which after time becomes sticky & disgusting - but they love it).  on our most recent visit a van pulled up next to our table & the driver ordered a takeaway pizza.....in the front seat was a 12wk old alpaca sitting up proud.....we all said only at amalfis!!!!

 

oh & nothing is wasted - a pizza box is always found in the fridge the morning after we have been to amalfis!
