i have been told about afshar mkt & i finally went looking forward it. they specialise in afghani, persian & indian continental groceries - my kind of shop. it is a compact space & packed with so many great tasty imports that i could easily spend an hour reading & looking @ the colourful products. firstly i adore the afghani bread, delivered daily. brilliant for mopping up curry! i also bought toasted chick peas, delicious for a pre dinner snack. jawad (mgr) helped me identify some things including the dried yoghurt pods - he said you suck on them as a sweet treat. he also said that they sell the best imported dates available. i eyed off the array of yoghurt drinks in the fridge & jawad said people enjoy this with their lunch & dinner, great for digestion & spicy food. plenty of rose water, mint water & alike.....i loved the look of the tiny chickpea & pistachio biscuits. worth finding this little store if you have not already!
