i find yum cha delicious! it was a weekend tradition to go when i lived in sydney.....since living in brisbane we don't do it too much & honestly we have been disappointed when we have gone, finding there is a strong focus on fried as opposed to steamed (i am not naming names tho). we have heard about landmark @ sunnybank (bit of an institution) but we have not ventured there (completely the other side of town for us). on a recent rainy day (perfect additive to a yum cha visit i think - rain makes it cosy!) we made the trek to sunnybank, waited in a cue for approx 20 minutes w a numbered ticket & then we were seated amid a packed restaurant w frequent trolleys laden w delicious, fresh morsels!!!! first off the trolley was stuffed eggplant (my favourite) followed by steamed beef & shallot balls, pork buns, steamed chinese greens w a strong oyster sauce, bbq duck (generous serve), steamed pork w garlic chive dumplings & spring rolls..... i loved the whole experience & will be back! i also have to say i love a chandelier & the landmark has many - so grand!!!
