it was late in the afternoon when we visited summit estate wines....the children were over wine tasting & the afternoon air was getting the evening chill in it.....however we wanted to try summit after several recommendations. we scanned through the wine tasting menu & went straight to the "alto" which is a blend of monastrell, garnacha, shyra, tempranillo, cabernet & tannat grapes....inspired by the blends from the jumilla region of spain. the wine is outstanding - we opened a btl on our return from stanthorpe & were both blown away with the quality of this wine. well worth a try!!! + the estate itself is beautiful with the tasting room offering views of the vineyard & beyond.....
