stove cafe, 91 jane st, west end

stove cafe is around the corner from my work.....on a recent visit i took some pics & chatted with chef, romuald freslon.  he is very passionate about what they are doing @ stove & you can tell.  gemma hansen the owner&chef of stove was away when I visited but romuald mentioned they have a strong focus on seasonal & local produce.  stove believes in supporting the smaller farmer through a group called Food Connect - which is where they source 90% of their produce.  http://www.foodconnect.com.au/

anyway romuald had just finished making a tray of panini's w chicken, semi dried tomato, rocket & aioli & they looked delicious!  the genovese coffee was great & my mother was quoted saying "possibly one of the best coffees she has ever had!"......the carrot cake we sampled was also excellent.
