boireann winery, 26 donelly's castle rd, the summit
we have been fans of boireann wines for several years now. we first read about boireann wines from james halliday awarding 5 stars to the winery in his 07/08 wine companion. boireann use traditional methods in their wine making & as you drive down the beautiful drive way to the winery/tasting house you see vines labelled....nebbiolo, barbera, petit verdot, mourvedre...all which are used in their innovative range of wines. my husband's favourite has been their shiraz voignier (which they did not make last year)....it is absolutely sensational - if you can get your hands on it!
i class boireann winery as being one of the best wineries in the granite belt region (i have two other favourites but different style of wines)....order online with the winery as not avail in bottle shops & served only in a handful of restaurants in australia one being aria, sydney & brisbane.
